Ouch! A recommendation...

Recommendation: Don't go headfirst into thornbushes with burrs. It hurts.

So a couple of hours ago while riding my bike through Bonnelli Park, I was on a horse trail and hit a rut at too high a speed. I then went, headfirst, into some bushes. And they had thorns and burrs, which I still can't get out of my gloves. I have some nice reminders of that now on my shoulder and knee...

Actually, I'm realizing that all that's on my right side. For those who know, I had another bicycle accident up in Berkeley. I went headfirst (again) over my bicycle, fracturing the radial head of my right elbow. I don't recommend doing that either. It hurts. And the only time I had to go to the emergency room was because of an incident with a tricycle... Ask me about that one sometime if you really want to know.

What is it about me, bikes, my head, and my right side? Life is full of mysteries...

I Hope You Dance

This evening my aunt passed away. My mom, uncle, and cousin were by her side, and she was at home. I found out towards the end of my first class of the night, so I had great support from my friends at school. Thank you all for your prayers and support and nonstop love.

You can see the final update my uncle wrote on http://www.harrishouse.info/.

The track on this post is the one that has spoken to me as my aunt's song. I see that as her message to us and ours to her.

Thank you, God, for the dance you gave us with her! Amen!

Well, the trip to Berkeley was awesome! Thanks to everyone for making it so great!! I have a few pictures from the trip (I brought my camera everywhere and then forgot to take pictures!! ).

Yesterday a group of us from The Gathering (my church service) went to Downtown Disney. Big & Rich were premiering their new single, "Comin' to your Town," with KZLA at ESPN Zone. Well, we all walked around and had a great time at the LEGO store!! You should see our architectural prowess!! So then we got to see Big & Rich and the USC Marching Band. And then Rachelle won one of 50 meet and greet passes, and she gave it to me because she didn't know them!! Thanks, again, Rachelle!! You can see pictures of that, too. We were able to bring one person in, so Danielle came because she loves Big & Rich, too. It was a lot of fun, and because they premiered the song on ESPN, we got a little football helmet, complete with warning instructions not to head butt with it, and they signed it!! There's pictures of it there, too.

It's been a great summer, that's for sure! But I've noticed this past month has gone faster than July. Probably because I've been doing many more fun things!!

Time Well Wasted

What a week! So it was composed mostly of splits, but then on Tuesday, I was looking at cmt.com, and I saw an ad, "Live in LA? Want to see Toby Keith, Merle Haggard for free?" Needless to say, I followed the link and found out CMT was doing another Outlaws concert in LA the following day! So I emailed them and got two free tickets!!

Now, I've wanted to see Toby in concert for a while, but the tickets are just too expensive. My next feat was to get Wednesday night off work, which ended up being really easy!!

So I got to see Toby Keith and Merle Haggard for free!! And they were pretty good seats, too!!! Dan (from Berkeley) went with me, and we probably will get on TV, too! It's supposed to first air November 5.

And now I'm finishing a few things to get ready to give the message at church tomorrow night and then head up to Berkeley. It's great to be able to actually say I'm on vacation! I haven't been able to say that in soooooooooo long!!
